Feb 5, 2020 · Alfaresco. I had very similar problems with my 3 year old Giulia which sometimes needed 2 or 3 presses of the key fob to open the door. I replaced the key fob battery and now no further problems. I reckon the key fob battery last around 3 years so with your 2017 model this would be about right.

Sep 4, 2021 · asub09. My key fob distance when locking the car seems to have really dropped recently. I changed the battery (twice) without any improvement. I also tried my other key fob, and it performs the same (must be just a few feet from the car to lock). The unlock distance seems to be a bit better than the lock distance, but I'm still trying to verify.
May 3, 2019 · Or just keep your key and spare key in a Faraday pouch (like I do) that cost just £4.99 and your car is protected instantly, not after 3 minutes which is an eternity for car thieves. Or if you don't want to pay anything at all, just wrap it in tin foil. These unnecessary gadgets are almost as criminal as car theft itself.
